what does disposable mean?

When we talk about packaging, it means that we are only going to use it once. Although they can be recycled, it is often complicated. The future of the packaging industry looks towards recyclable, sustainable, reusable, durable and compostable materials to reduce the impact on the environment.

what materials are disposable packaging made from?

Among the most prominent resins are polystyrene (PS) and polypropylene (PP), combined with different additives. We must bear in mind that all these containers must be suitable for human and food contact, complying with local regulations.

How can we optimize the use of disposable packaging?

There are really two alternatives:

• Reduce the use of this type of packaging: we will replace them with others that are more sustainable and provide us with the same service.
• Reuse them as much as possible, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Is it compatible with biodegradable or compostable?

They are different and unrelated terms. When we talk about “disposable”, we are referring directly to this type of packaging that is going to fulfill a single cycle of use and will then be disposed of in the garbage.
